Zealand, building Triple8Funk Dance Company to training with the best and teaching in New York City’s Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio, EXPG (Exile Professional Gym) amongst numerous other dance studios and schools. Specializing in Waacking, Hip Hop and Street Jazz, Karen continues to train and perform, everywhere from The Bowery Electric, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. to The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, drawing influences from all styles and cultures. With an enormous passion for sharing the love of dance in all facets, learning not only the dance but the history and music behind street styles, students can expect a high energy class with foundational knowledge, vocabulary to build their own freestyle upon and choreography to put everything into a fun and challenging routine. Whether focusing on competitive group training, or freestyle concepts for individual character and performance development, her classes can be tailored to fit students of all ages in a variety of styles.
